Chattering Free Sliding Mode Control and State Dependent Kalman Filter Design for Underground Gasification Energy Conversion Process

The fluctuations in the heating value of an underground coal gasification (UCG) process limit its application electricity generation, where a desired composition combustible gases is required to operate gas turbines efficiently. This shortcoming can be addressed by designing robust control scheme for process. In current research work, model-based, chattering-free sliding mode (CFSMC) algorithm developed maintain trajectory syngas mixture. Besides robustness, CFSMC yields reduced chattering due continuous law, and tracking error also converges finite time. To estimate unmeasurable states controller synthesis, state-dependent Kalman filter (SDKF) based on quasi-linear decomposition nonlinear model employed. simulation results demonstrate that despite external disturbance measurement noise, methodology good performance. A comparative analysis made between CFSMC, conventional SMC, already designed dynamic integral SMC (DISMC), which shows 71.2% 69.9% improvement root mean squared with respect DISMC, respectively.
